Lake Edge Learning Center is a nature based preschool with wrap around childcare where the classes are held outside as much as weather permits. Nature is infused in all aspects of the program, and the pedagogy emphasizes inquiry-based learning through play and hands-on discovery.

 

This means that the curriculum is emergent but given the frequent outdoor time spent by the children, these experiences are typically rooted in the seasonal happenings of the natural world around us. Additionally, nature is integrated into the indoor spaces, and the play areas have an overall appearance of a natural area rather than structured play equipment.
